HOW TO FIT PERFORMANCE TESTING WITHIN A DEVOPS ENVIRONMENT

Edge Testing, in partnership with Neotys, would like to invite you to a breakfast seminar where we will be discussing trends and perspectives within the DevOps environment and presenting unique solutions to help organisations fit Performance Testing with DevOps.

DevOps environments aim to deliver shorter development cycles and try to achieve this, in part, by making extensive use of automation. Performance testing is complex and takes time because it still typically requires significant human action with each release. So how can reliable and thorough performance tests be executed in these fast-paced environments and how can performance testing tools integrate with a DevOps toolchain?

THE ASSURANCE LEADERSHIP FORUM

Abcedo Testing’s Principal Consultant Ankith Biswas will be hosting a session on “Managing Risk in the Agile World” at the upcoming Assurance Leadership Forum (ALF) on Wednesday 31st January 2018 at the conference centre at Balls Brothers, Minster Court.

Alister says,“The management of risks as part of the software development lifecycle has long been considered critical and rightly so. Testing is after all, the risk mitigation business! However, as more and more organisations adopt variations of an Agile development methodology, can we continue to manage risks in the same way? Perhaps even, as is advocated in some quarters, risks are dead!”

Here at Edge we have some of the industry’s leading thinkers in test strategy, test delivery and test tools – along with specialists in recruitment and testing careers. The ALF is great for sharing ideas and learning about the latest challenges and hot topics. Why not join us for the risk management discussion?”

EVENT: BIRMINGHAM TESTING EVENT

The management of risks as part of the software development lifecycle has long been considered critical and rightly so. Testing is after all, the risk mitigation business! However, as more and more organisations adopt variations of an Agile development methodology, can we continue to manage risks in the same way? Perhaps even, as is advocated in some quarters, risks are dead! If a bad thing happens it’s an issue and the Agile process absorbs the impact and moves on.

In this session Abcedo’s Senior Test Consultant Alister Aitken will be leading a discussion that will explore the above assertion and consider how best risks can be managed in today’s Agile world. The event encourages the audience to participate and share their own insights and experiences.

EVENT: 'GDPR - TURNING A BIG CHALLENGE INTO AN OPPORTUNITY'

In 2016 the EU adopted a new, more stringent set of data protection regulations titled the General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR; these will come into effect from the 25th May 2018 and the UK Government has already stated that they will be retained after Brexit. The new responsibilities these regulations put on companies over and above existing data protection regulations are significant and fines are potentially huge – the higher of 4% of global turn-over or 40m euros.

As well as creating the need for significant implementation activity impacting almost every part of a modern organisation, these regulations will have significant ramifications for testing activity. Most companies have been taking a risk-based approach to using real data for testing purposes; the new regulations come down hard on this and with a new, more vigorous enforcement regime a new approach is needed.

This session will discuss GDPR, its implications and how companies can turn the need for compliance into a potential opportunity.

Led by Dan Martland, the event encourages the audience to participate and share their own insights and experiences.
